About Charly

Hi, I'm Charly - a certified and experienced exercise professional in NZ.

I've always loved getting outdoors and exploring beautiful New Zealand, while encouraging others to do the same for mental health & wellness. I don't get out as often these days, but still post my adventures with my husband + our little family on @charlyandemil. Follow along if you'd like to be inspired by beautiful locations in Aotearoa!

BACKGROUND:

I started working in the NZ Fitness industry in early 2015, then after realising that educating/assisting people to overcome barriers in order to achieve their health & fitness goals (& better their mental health), was my passion - I completed my Personal Training qualification in 2018.

Becoming an Exercise Professional was one of the best things that I ever chose to do. Being a Personal Trainer to clients who aligned with my way of being, meant I was able to work directly alongside people with all different kinds of stories, and guide them in working toward a happy and healthy mental + physical state.

BUSINESS & CAREER:

My original Personal Training business had the tagline "Fitness & Vitality", & aimed to reduce the intimidation of a Gym atmosphere, while also aiming to make getting fit and healthy as enjoyable as possible. Throughout the existence of this business my clients and I always had lots of laughs (the most important thing clearly).

CURRENT DIRECTION:

While I did stop taking bootcamps & clients eventually, mental health and wellness still remains a massive passion of mine, and I now post more about it on @charlysdiariesnz. The odd E-Book might show up in my Fitness & Lifestyle Programs section, so subscribe to emails if you'd like to hear about those.

__________

I've always spoken about the fact that fitness and nature combined are proven to affect Mental Health and General Wellness positively... But nowadays I take a more general approach to promoting wellness - focusing on the effects of quick self-care every morning, getting dressed with purpose, drinking water, food that fuels, getting outdoors when you feel up to it, movement you enjoy, and more.

I personally was diagnosed anxiety many years ago, but can also relate to mentally low moments, as well post-partum struggles. After working with so many amazing people at the Gym, and living in the beautiful New Zealand, I want to encourage as many people as I can to do something for themselves everyday.

I know it's easy to take what we have been given for granted, so if we are blessed with the ability to walk, plus current good general health - then let's explore our beautiful country, burn some caloriesand boost our energy... Naturally.

See you out there!
Charly
